We have called the county Health Department and researched several additional health sources to
figure out the best course of action to keep the library from being Germ Central – for our valued
patrons as well as for ourselves. Custodians will be cleaning bathrooms, public surfaces, computer
keyboards, and doorknobs with anti-bacterial and -viral agents. In addition, staff will wipe down
surfaces several times a day. You, too, can help!
Please do not bring your child or yourself to the library if one of you
• has a fever
• is in the contagious stage of illness
• is coughing or sneezing frequently
• has stayed home from work or school because of illness
Staff and patrons will truly appreciate your consideration for them!
If you have been without a fever for 24 hours but are still symptomatic
• Consider wearing a medical mask – you may ask at the front desk for one
Make frequent and liberal use of prevention measures available to all
• Antibacterial gel at circulation desk, computers, and children’s area
• Tissues for catching coughs and sneezes
• Ask staff for antibacterial wipes to clean off tables, counters, and keyboards (but not computer
screens, please!)
• Wash hands with warm water and soap for at least 20 seconds after coughing, sneezing,
blowing nose, or using the bathroom

This website, produced by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, provides
free information and resources to help businesses implement CDC recommendations for
preventing and dealing with the swine flu. You'll find links to fliers, posters, email and letter
templates, fact sheets, and more.
Thank you for helping all of us stay healthy!
