West Genesee Required Reading books 2020

We have all of the books available to check out both in print and ebooks. Please limit yourself to one summer reading list book per grade level so we have enough for everyone. Call the library to see what books we currently have available and schedule a time to pick one up.

Here are links to the book lists:

Summer Reading Program

Our Summer Reading Program begins July 1. This year’s theme is Imagine Your Story.

Rather than counting number of pages read or number of books read as past years’ programs have, this year’s program asks participants to read for 20 minutes to earn each ticket in the prize raffle.

This year the raffle prizes will be Target gift cards. Winners will be randomly picked at the end of the summer and will be contacted then.

Hoopla Bonus Borrows

Hoopla is making extra content available to library patrons during the pandemic:

In order to provide relief to Libraries and to provide more content to Patrons during this difficult time of sheltering at home, hoopla Digital has curated the hoopla Bonus Borrows Collection.

The hoopla Bonus Borrows consists of more than 1,000 top titles that are FREE to Libraries — PLUS each Patron will be debited ZERO Borrows when they borrow any of the included titles!

In addition to these titles, patrons will also continue to have access to hoopla’s full collection of over 750,000 eBooks, audiobooks, movies, TV shows, music, comics, and more.

The collection includes a variety of material, but as the image above implies, some of it is geared towards K–12 students learning at home while schools are closed. You can go directly to that subcollection here.

Tumble Book Library

OCPL provides Tumble Book Library and Tumble Math for patrons of Maxwell and of other OCPL libraries. The 2 collections provide online versions of picture books for elementary school students. Additional collections in the package are Audio Book Cloud, Romance Book Cloud, and Teen Book Cloud.
