This month’s craft is a mason jar pumpkin.

The kit includes:

  • A mason jar
  • Orange paint
  • Green paint
  • A paint brush
  • A cork to use a stem

Celebrate Halloween at Maxwell with not-so-spooky stories, cute and creepy crafts, ghoulish games, and trick-or-treating! Drop-in anytime between the two hours. Wear your costumes and bring your treat bag, because we will parade around the library trick-or-treating at 6 PM. If you want to trick-or-treat, please arrive by 5:45 PM.

Pumpkin Carving Party

For children ages 3-18 and their families

Have some spook-tacular fall fun by carving and decorating a pumpkin! We’ll provide pumpkins, decorations and tools, as well as cider and donuts.

Wear old clothes. Weather permitting, we will be outside, so dress accordingly. This program is for carvers of all ages and levels of experience, but children under 8 years old must be accompanied by an adult.

Space is limited. Please sign-up for 1 session only:

All supplies provided.

Because of the popularity of this program, there are two sessions. Registration is required as space is limited to 6 people per session. Sign up for either the 4 PM class or the 5 PM class.

Due to COVID concerns, facial masks must be properly worn by everyone ages 2 and up when inside the library, regardless of vaccination status.

  • Pick it up October 22nd
  • Bring it home and carve it
  • Then bring it back to us by October 27th
  • We’ll put it outside the library for everyone to see!

This month’s theme:

Make a 3D fabric pumpkin just in time for Halloween and other autumn celebrations! There will be various fabrics to choose from and printed instructions for making additional pumpkins at home with fabric you have on hand.

Due to the popularity of this program, there are two sessions. Registration is required as space is limited to 8 people per session. Sign up for either the 5 PM class or the 6 PM class.

Participants must follow Maxwell Library’s COVID protocols concerning facial masks and social distancing. We recommend that you bring a mask in case one is required that day.
