Raising Backyard Chickens

Friday, November 6
3:00 to 4:00 PM
Virtual program on Zoom
Free
Registration required

Marion “Kathy” Kitt grew up on her grandparents’ farm in the Town of Onondaga. The property was on Vinegar Road, today known as Kasson Road, and is currently home to Kathy, her husband, and her “girls”—the flock of chickens she lovingly raises, photographs, and paints.

A talented artist, Kathy’s 2018 art exhibit and presentation at Maxwell on “backyard chickening” was so well received that an encore performance was requested. Today’s interactive workshop, Raising Backyard Chickens, will be held via Zoom. A big advantage to using the Zoom platform is that Kathy will be able to bring the audience on a virtual visit of her set-up, making it easier to show and discuss the basics of starting your own flock.

Free. Registration is required. You will need a smartphone, tablet, or computer to participate.
