Offsite at Camillus Park
Free
Registration required

Rain date: June 13 at 2 PM

REYT and Therapist Renee Goot of Syracuse Therapeutic Yoga LLC will lead us on a walking meditation for adults 18 and up. The class will meet at Camillus Park (1 Pool Road/1 Fox Road). This is the park with the splash pad. Here’s what you need to know:

  • Dress appropriately for walking on a wooded trail.
  • We will be mostly quiet so cell phones should be away and on silent.
Please leave your dogs home so we can be fully engaged.
  • Feel free to bring a journal or anything to reflect or nurture yourself, post walk.

Program:

  • We will meet in the parking lot.
  • We will do light stretching to warm up.
  • Next we will do our guided meditation walk/hike (socially distanced, with facial masks).
  • We will close with Reflection (on your own time to notice and reflect on your experience).

The class is free, but space is limited.

Chair Yoga for Adults

Tuesday, February 9, 10:00 to 11:00 AM
Virtual via Zoom
Free
Registration required
For adults over 18

Join certified yoga teacher Diane Zarzecki (RYT 500 and certification in chair yoga) to enjoy the benefits of yoga right from your chair! Learn simple movements that exercise each part of the body including your breathing. Build strength and flexibility and improve balance. You will do many movements seated and others standing while using the chair as a steady support. Diane provides modifications for each exercise and is happy to accommodate all fitness levels.

You will need a chair without arms. We recommend that you prepare a space from which you can focus on the instructor through a computer, tablet, or smartphone that is set up on a nearby surface. Be sure to set your chair on a non-slippery surface such as non-slip carpeting or a yoga mat.

By registering you acknowledge that taking part in a virtual workout can be dangerous and that you are working out at your own risk.

The class is free but since space is limited, registration is required. Please include an email address since we will need it in order to send the link to the Zoom meeting to you. Add maxwell@maxwellmemoriallibrary.org to your email contacts to reduce the chances of the link getting sent to your spam folder.

On the day of the program, please log in to Zoom 5 or 10 minutes early so the class may begin on time.
